When I bought my iPad I gave my K2 (US) to my wife. Recently, after missing my daily newspaper and not being able to read my iPad while sitting in the sun, when Amazon dropped the price on the K2's I bought one. I was immediately amazed at how much better the screen looks than my original K2.

Ok, now I'm confused. I wanted to impress a friend and it didn't go well. Why does the KDXG have better screen contrast? (a) Mainly the new (Pearl) eink screen, or (b) more tighter control over the manufacturing process + software improvements / graphite case, or (c) some other thing/combo I know jack shit about.
