Rob,

I read your book and second the reviewer you quoted!

I loved the satire and humorous dialogue - it was a great read.

I'm about half way through and can enthusiastically recommend this book! The double double crossings are hilarious to follow!

Bought the eBook too, starting to read it right now, looks promising

Edit : On Chapter Eleven right now. I can honestly say, best $2 I ever spent on a book, love it

Thanks, everybody! Glad everybody seems to be enjoying Mercury Falls. I'm working on another book, but it's going to be a little different -- think John Hodgman meets David Sedaris. I'll get to a sequel eventually.

I went on a buying spree and picked up your book and popped over and picked up Steve Jordan's book also. Now, my winter TBR list is looking a bit full.

I have to say that I went ahead and added your book based on the recommendations from here (especially, the comments by pshrynk)

Haiti earthquake relief sale

A charity sale update: My Christmas charity sale raised $320 for CRWRC, and organization that helps victims of poverty, injustice and natural disaster.

With the recent earthquake in Haiti, the need is greater than ever, so I have decided to also donate all of January's revenue from Mercury Falls (hard copy and electronic) to CRWRC's earthquake relief efforts in Haiti as well.

Rob, thank you for making your book available to us through Smashwords (one of my favourite sites). It’s really generous of you to donate revenue to charity, too.

Mercury Falls is beautifully written. It was a joy to read a book that was put together with such intelligence. It’s polished and it’s a finished product.

Your skill as an author and your writing style made this book one I enjoyed so much that I’m sure I’ll re-read it many times.

I love stories along the lines of Dogma (I don’t know if that’s a book, but the movie was amazing) and RealmShift (author: MR’s own Alan Baxter).

Cherubim, demons, portals to other planes (linoleum, Armageddon and the four Attaché cases of the Apocalypse hehe) – this book is cheeky, irreverent and very funny. I giggled at some of Perp’s tips, I understood the humans (loved Christine’s character) and I admired/feared the ethereal characters (especially Mercury).

I enjoyed how the story all came together without me guessing ahead. The appearance of M towards the end was brilliant (I don’t want to give away too much, but I loved that twist)!

I kept going back and re-reading sections (which was no hardship at all). There’s a lot of complex characters and I wanted to understand everything. This is a book that I chose to read in detail. Well done, Rob!

Edit: There's another Mercury book at Smashwords and it's free! It's a short story and I've grabbed it.
