Jailbreaking 5.3.7.2
There have been several Jailbreak trouble reports today, all on this specific version of the Amazon firmware.

I started this thread for the troubleshooting of this problem.

First thing to try:
Remove USB cable and re-boot. (that fixed one of the problem reports)

Works for me, AFAIR, so I'd go with PEBCAK?

EDIT: Can't remember if that one suffers from the otaupd crashes, but if it does, rebooting and trying again usually does the trick.

It might be that just a bunch of people didn't un-plug the USB cable today.

In an earlier life-time, I worked at a "help desk" and such things do happen.
(Friday mornings is the day for everyone to do the same , world wide. )
