In one of the new interviews that I recently posted he explained his lack of timely output on the fact that he has been living with Kitty in her house in Colorado and that unlikle living in his own house where he was the the master and could announce that he was working and that everybody be quiet while he was working. He currently has a new house under construction and its completion date is Jiune 30th. He assumed he would become master of the house starting in July and be able to resume his normal work flow. We'll see i guess!!

Yeah, he could've, but he likely had some personal reason as to why he didn't do so.

Well personally I wouldn't think or say those things. I'll be quite content if he begins doing something close to his past writing habits in July after he grts moved into his new house.

In the province of Calderon in the land of Aleron, there are furies. Furies are magical beings with the power to control air, fire, earth, or water. Every person in Aleron can control at least one of these elements and at least one fury.

Everyone except Tavi.

Tavi is an orphan shepherd boy who lacks the basic powers of every other citizen of the realm. But it is Tavi who is thrust into the center of a battle for dominion of the realm.

Rebels led by Aldrick ex Gladius and assisted by the traitor Fidelias launch an attack against the reign of First Lord Gaius Sextus. Tavi, his uncle Bernard, and those loyal to the First Lord must fight off the invading usurpers

At the same time, warlike Marat are also invading and attacking and the sadistic rival landowner Kord is attempting to crush Bernard's family and enslave those around him.

The story builds to a climax as multiple factions clash during a siege that lasts for days. Sometimes, it is difficult to tell who is fighting whom and where alliances lie.

Jim Butcher builds a world and weaves an adventure that keeps the story constantly moving forward. He drew me in with his characters and he kept me going with the action.

This is the first novel in Butcher's 6-volume Codex Alera series and he does an excellent job of creating a tangible universe. The story stands on its own; but, in the end, not every villain is defeated and not every question is answered. One still wonders about the true identity of Tavi and a few others. I'm looking forward to the sequels.

As of July 2017: Jim paused writing Peace Talks to finish his last short story for Brief Cases, so fans can enjoy a full anthology of Dresden tales to ease the wait for the next novel. We’re still quite a ways from having a release date, but we’ll announce any updates in the news blog.

Short Stories:

“Jury Duty” (Unbound) was released December 1st, 2015.
“Cold Case” (Shadowed Souls), a Molly-POV story set after Cold Days, was released in paperback, kindle, and audio November 1st, 2016. A special edition of this anthology will be released in August 2017.
“Day One” (Unfettered II), a Butters-POV story set after Skin Game, was released in Kindle November 21st and hardcover December 6th, 2016.
“A Fistful of Warlocks” (Straight Outta Tombstone), a Luccio-POV short story set in the Wild West. Released July 4, 2017
Jim is currently working on the final novelette for the Brief Cases Dresden Files story anthology. This story will be exclusive to Brief Cases, like “Aftermath” was to Side Jobs. Also like “Aftermath,” this story gives us a unique view through the eyes of characters close to Harry: Maggie and Mouse!
