Mobi page breaks in Calibre viewer
I would seem that the Calibre viewer does not honor the mobi page breaks even though the mobi file was created by Calibre. It makes it hard to check that everything is working properly by using the Calibre viewer.

Calibre in essence converts books to epub prior to opening them in the viewer. Calibre's viewer is not designed to emulate any ereader.

If you want to preview mobi files Kindle Previewer might be a good solution.

I've been using the Kindle Previewer to do just that. Adding an entry into the "Open With" plugin has been very useful, though the file still has to be opened manually after Previewer starts up. Even with the extra step, it's better than loading the book onto the device and finding out the hard way.

One other thing that's been useful in seeing whether the nav points are coming out right or not is to watch the conversion job while it's happening.
