Yes, you just need to go to the web site and download it. http://www.appslib.com which could be down from the Galaxy itself I believe. You can also download to a pc and transfer the file.

Very interesting. I have listed a few others on the Android wiki page. But I am surprised by the AppsLib message. I am curious now, I think I will email them. Dale |

I got an answer. It seems that Appslib will only work for certain manufacturers. There is a consortium of companies behind the appslib and Samsung is not in the list. I will be updating the wiki to identify this limitation. Too bad, as they actually test and certify apps that are submitted, although not all of them.
Google Market has its own set of limitations but it is based on capabilities of the device. My understanding that only devices with a gps and a camera can qualify to install Google Market from the factory, although some hackers have added it to custom built firmware. It cannot be downloaded and installed like an app. Thus it is only for full featured devices who are working with Google. Amazon also has a app for its market. It does not work well on my Archos but may work on the Galaxy. It is very restrictive. Every app you get from them is locked to the actual Amazon market app. If you uninstall that app all the downloads will no longer run and they always check everytime they are started. I have some more in the wiki and one it fully supported by user based uploads. So much for open software, this is beginning to look very proprietary. Dale |
