koreader+fmon failed start in firmware 4.2.8283

I don't want to install KSM on my kobo aura one.
koreader + fmon worked before 4.2.8283.
could anyone help me to use it on 4.2.8283? thanks a lot!

the most minimalist approach I know, and I'm using is advboot, which is adding some bash code to the rc boot files, on boot you get two choices to boot nickel or koreader. I'm using it on my h2o, however for my ka1 I'm still stuck with nickel. To use advboot one need an icon with some special coordinates, and until now I didn't managed to accomplish this.

Have you been able to start koreader with newer kobo firmware?
It look like it's crashing when fmon start it, coolreader btw start without any issue so it have to be something with koreader and not fmon.

Not sure where the problem arise.
Since ksm + koreader works.

When I started this thread, I was using v2015.11-818-g81bc115.
Now I'm using v2015.11-845-g6b5b426.

This is still an open issue also for Koreader with KSM I think:
https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/2502

The latest patch for KSM fixed this problem.
As a temporal solution I'm using ksm+koreader instead.
Still I would prefer a more minimalist approach.

Tshering made a post in an earlier thread that explained how to minimize KSM. You can also just setup the "autoselect" function so that KOReader starts a few seconds after KSM. You should keep the few seconds delay for when you want to use Nickel instead. Or, you could set it so it autoselects Nickel, if you want to use that most often.

Luck;
Ken

Thanks.
I've seen it before I started this thread. Not what I want.
