Unable to email to Kindle 3 from Calibre

I am newly unable to email books from Calibre to my Kindle 3. I can send to gmail just fine, so I'm perplexed. I successfully sent them to K3 using @free.kindle.com before. I'd like to skip the step of sending them to gmail then the K3. Any suggestions? I get the below error message any time I try to send directly. TIA

Amazon often doesn't allow emailing directly from your computer. Click the Use gmail button in the calibre email preferences and follow the instructions.

My new mobile phone has Gmail on it. When I turned off the phone I could email a book from Calibre again.
