Just a reminder that this will be the last day to get any of these if you're interested since the sale officially ends on the 6th of Feb (some titles expired earlier).
After some sampling and thought, I picked up just the Chan and Ballantine/Morris out of the ones that hadn't been previously freebied. The others had insufficient writing quality/storyline interest to price-point ratio to get me to shell out when the library probably has them and HC isn't a publisher I particularly want to support. I got them from Kobo because some of Amazon's Mobi samples suffered from messed up conversion formatting (tiny squinty font and decapitated lines following drop-caps and so forth). Also, not only do I prefer ePub format, but I can pay in Canadian dollars instead of losing out on the currency conversion. |

The sequel to Phoenix Rising, one of the former sale books, is now .99 also from HarperCollins (on Amazon US):
The Janus Affair: A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel by Tee Morris and Pip Ballantine The Janus Affair Evildoers beware! Retribution is at hand, thanks to Britain's best-kept secret agents!! Certainly no strangers to peculiar occurrences, agents Wellington Books and Eliza Braun are nonetheless stunned to observe a fellow passenger aboard Britain's latest hypersteam train suddenly vanish in a dazzling bolt of lightning. They soon discover this is not the only such disappearance . . . with each case going inexplicably unexamined by the Crown. The fate of England is once again in the hands of an ingenious archivist paired with a beautiful, fearless lady of adventure. And though their foe be fiendishly clever, so then is Mr. Books . . . and Miss Braun still has a number of useful and unusual devices hidden beneath her petticoats. |

Thanks for the post. I have the first book (which I have yet to read), but the price is certainly good and I generally like steampunk, so ....

Also, these two are Free.
One is by the same author and one is set in the same universe. --The Sun Never Sets (Tale from the Archives) by Val Griswold-Ford, Pip Ballantine (editor), Tee Morris (editor) Description: Agent Isaac Martin receives a note, imploring him to investigate the nearly completed clock tower at the Palace at Westminster. He and his partner, Agent Andrew Kensington, start looking into the construction and uncover unanswered questions concerning this new landmark’s creators. Tales from the Archives are short stories set in the world of the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences. They explore events mentioned in the novels, characters seen and unseen and may include novel teasers of things to come. --Chasing the Bard (The Fey With Us) by Pip Ballantine Description: From one of the minds behind the award winning Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series. Book One of the Fey With Us series. Book Two is Digital Magic. Sive, the goddess of battle, hopes that William Shakespeare may be able to change the fate of her people. Can the magic of word and imagination save creation? |

[QUOTE=kg3;2146101]Also, these two are Free.
One is by the same author and one is set in the same universe.QUOTE] Thanks for those! And here's another one from HarperColllins marked down to .99 (maybe there's a new group of sales coming up...) Mixed reviews, though. Queen Victoria Demon Hunter by A. E. Morat London, 1838. Queen Victoria is crowned; she receives the orb, the scepter, and an arsenal of bloodstained weaponry. If Britain is about to become the greatest power of the age, there’s the small matter of the undead to take care of first. Demons stalk the crown, and political ambitions have unleashed ravening hordes of zombies even within the nobility itself. But rather than dreams of demon hunting, Queen Victoria’s thoughts are occupied by Prince Albert. Can she dedicate her life to saving her country when her heart belongs elsewhere?With lashings of glistening entrails, decapitations, zombies, and foul demons, this masterly new portrait will give a fresh understanding of a remarkable woman, a legendary monarch, and quite possibly the best demon hunter the world has ever seen. |

I don't understand why, if this price was set by the publisher, Amazon is the only site I can find it on! It's not 0.99 at B&N, Kobo, BooksOnBoard, or Sony. Sheesh.
