You can think whatever you like.

This is NOT the thread to post your feelings about a book..its for those who might be interested in it.

I did not realize that discussing a book was discouraged / off-topic. I apologize.

Posts in the "Deals, Freebies, and Resources" section are intended to provide information on book pricing deals, where the books are available from, and geographic restrictions (if any). This is not a venue for discussing personal feelings, reactions, etc. towards the listed books. More appropriate forums for such discussions are the "General Discussion" or "Reading Recommendations" areas.

Book Description
This text edition of the HCSB has been optimized for easy reading on digital devices. Free from the visual clutter of footnotes, cross references, and other links, this edition is fast to navigate and easy to use.

The HCSB was developed by 100 scholars and English stylists from 17 denominations, who prayerfully translated what is one of the most significant Bible translations available today. The HCSB reflects linguistic advances in vocabulary, grammar, punctuation and formatting while it retains meaningful theological terms. In the HCSB you'll find God's personal name (Yahweh), the use of "Messiah" in the New Testament, and the use of "slave" in the New Testament, just to name a few examples. Also, you'll notice the contemporary speech patterns in the HCSB mean that words like "behold" and "shall" are not used. Instead, words or phrases that are common today can be found in their place.

The HCSB employs a first-of-its kind translation philosophy known as Optimal Equivalence, which seeks to achieve an optimal balance of literary precision and emotive clarity through a comprehensive analysis of the text at every level. This process assures maximum transfer of both words and thoughts contained in the original.
This is one again free, but the ASIN has changed. Now located here:

That's true. Whenever Religion or Politics is involved conversation is likely to become 'heated' to put it mildly.
I got a copy of the version over at Mobipocket some time ago (the KJV). It wasn't free I don't think but it works ok as a stand alone book. It has the most versions of any written work out there I think. Certainly it has had one of the longest print runs in history, and has been both quoted and mis-quoted I'm sure since it was first written down (and maybe even before since it was kept in circulation orally for centuries before being put down in writing.
Funny thing about the Bible though. Technically all books are bibles though only one is the Bible. I mean the word bible comes either from the Greeks or Middle Latin(biblia)and means either 'book' or 'the books.' So while all the books in a library are biblia not all biblia are the Bible.

Although not on my reading list, Canadians will find this Holman edition free from kobobooks as well.

So, ePub or Kindle, you're covered!
