Difficulty with conversion of HTML
I have some documents I converted to HTML for putting into Calibre and making an LRF file. Everything looks fine in my web browser on preview, but when I convert it and put it onto my Sony, the lines are all centered. Any tips as to what's going on here and how to fix it?

That appears to be happening to my ... uh ... liberated eReader books (but not Mobipocket). I swear, this was answered by Kovid in one of those million other threads ... but I haven't been able to find the reply, now that I need it!
Interestingly, if you convert the same HTML file to ePub, no centering. I'll be watching this thread to see if someone else actually remembers what Kovid's previous answer was. |

So, that's why Calibre asks which edition you want to convert from, when there's a zip and an ePub...

One more question, Kovid---a small handful of the books seem to have the quotation marks and apostrophes missing. There is just a space where they should be. But this did not happen with all the books, only a few...

Encoding problems most likely. Easiest way to fix is to edit the html and do a search replace

Thanks. These are all from the same source (all right, I confess, they are 'liberated' eReader files) and while the vast majority of them look fine, there are a handful with weird issues. There is another one which goes great until page 50 or so, then the font goes huge for no reason
