Sigil not responding 100% CPU usage when loading a 38 MB epub file

Sigil not responding/100% CPU usage when loading a 38 MB epub file

... just deleted everything I wrote to ask many questions why sigil ... and if there are alternative ...

the solution however is patient, I just takes a long time for Sigil to load such :-)

To be possible to work on the PC while Sigil is working hard, I set the affinity for Sigil to only one CPU (task manager). Of course I understand Sigil would work faster if 2 CPU are available for it to work, however I prefer to work on the PC while Sigil those its thing.

I might be helpful to think a little outside the box. Which I just learned to appreciate:

A tutorial to rename the .epub to .zip and extract all content html and jpeg from a epub, with the possibility to split, rearrange, edit the ebook content.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19268...e-html-editor/

Unzipped I can easily and fast access the content of the ebook.

That file is huge.
Grab some brew and wait while Sigil tries to digest that turkey. It can take an hour (and you best have some extra RAM).

Or you use TweakEpub (from the creators of Atlantis). There you can edit the files with your choice of editor without zipping or unzipping.
Only text-based files though, not images.
