Problems setting date and time

I received my Kobo a week ago but seem to be having a problem getting it to accept when I set the date and time. Every time I turn it on, it wants me to set it over again. I am definitely hitting the "apply" button, I've tried resetting the device, but it still insists I haven't set the date or time yet. Am I missing something, or does my reader have some sort of bug?

Hmmm, once you input the date and time, you can use the unit just fine though?
Can you navigate to the settings in the menu and see what it shows for the date and time there?

But it does sound like you're going to have to exchange the unit, if a reset doesn't fix it, you have very little other options available to you at this point. To me it sounds like a hardware defect. Either a bad flash memory chip thats not doing writes/reads properly, or borked reset circuitry/logic that's triggering a clear of these flip-flops/registers when it shouldn't

Yes, everything else about the Kobo works fine. After I set the date and time, and look at the settings, it does show what I've inputted. But once I turn the device off and then on again, it's all wiped and shows that I haven't input anything.

I think that I will have to exchange it.
