Cybook Gen3---contrast inverse

My Cybook surprised me again. This time it not only freezed itself as usual, but has kept its face in this way-----contrast completely inverse! All happened when I tried to zoom the view. Reset does not work, and now I am patiently waiting for the reply from Bookeen.

There is so much surprise from the machine that all my hiding good quality has been revealed thoroughly, for example endurance.

When you say "reset does not work", do you mean that you press the reset button and then the ON/OFF button does not work? (reset turns the Cybook off, even if you see no change on the screen, then you turn it on normally).

You could try removing the battery and putting it back. And give it a full charge.

Hello Jellby, usually the 'reset' button reboot my device, not only turn it off. When the problem happened, the battery showed 30%. I believe this is an advanced problem that I can not get luck by trying basic stuffs myself. Sadly...

It sounds like a flat battery to me - the battery meter is not always accurate. Have you tried recharging it?

Don't known ,not sure the battery could do that. Mine wasn't reversed that way when the battery died. And technically speaking, i can't figure out how that would happen. Then i'm no specialist on how e-ink works, and the rest fits the no more battery.

Do you have a wall charger? just leave it on for a night charging (if you charge from your pc, then leave that for at least 12 hours).

good luck!

When a page is refreshed the reader first makes a complete inverse image and then builds the new one. Here the battery just died between the inverse-screen and the new buildup.
I dare to say that after charging your cybook, resetting it and turning it back on (in that order) you should be fine........

Thank you all for the tips. :-)
After recharging the battery, everything is back to normal again. Mysterious Cybook.....
I think ErwinOtten got the point. With horrible battery, nothing is impossible.

What a coincidence!
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46995

First, the one who created the thread mentioned
1. It freezes up and reverts back to the splash screen in the middle of reading something.
Exactly what I have experienced. Since this 'Kino' bought the Cybook almost the same time as me, I think it is a bug of the new firmware 834.

Second, the one is called 'Kino', and I almost mistook this as me.
