Can the Sony Reader really be bricked?
I just read this thread and discovered with relief that the person who posted it was able to unbrick his Sony Reader.
Which begs the question... has there ever been a documented case of a Sony Reader being bricked to the point that it can no longer be unbricked? How is it that the Reader is so relatively brick-safe? |

If you mess with /opt/UsbUpdater, you can break the the recovery mode and the firmware will have to be reflashed using hardware interface. On of the guys at the-ebook.org forums managed to do just that. Luckily, Sony replaced his Reader with no questions asked.

Of course, you can always take a brick to the Reader, and that would mess it up pretty good....
