Now we just have to find out how good the last Harry Potter sold on Amazon, and at least we finally would have a clue about the numbers.

I think Amazon either needs to put out the sales numbers or shut up about sales.

Why? As PR, it's been working really well for them. It's like messages from the oracle. They issue some nebulous, unsupported statement, and instantly hundreds of people run around interpreting the signs and omens, generating press along the way.

The best selling product of all time? I can believe it. My mother, who I am certain is the least technical person in the entire universe, offered to buy me one for Christmas.

"Third-Generation Kindle Now the Bestselling Product of All Time on Amazon Worldwide" As you can see Kali left off the key word to let everyone know what Amazon was specifying. |

It has nothing to do with being a sheep. Amazon succeeds the same way Bose succeeds. People want quick, easy to operate, understand gizmo's that do what they say they can do. Both of these companies succeed by giving people exactly what they want.
Not everyone is interested in all the geeky details that some of you thrive on. |
