From your pictures, the stylus looks to be the same as the optional "advanced stylus" for the DR1000S. I have the "flip cover" for my DR1000S, and that has a "loop" on the inside of the "spine" of the cover which holds the stylus.

Same here. "Loop"on sleeve and in cover. Still prefer stylus directly within in the unit, as with Sony 900 or iRex iLiad. But no showstopper.

Can you set bookmarks on ePub files? How many different font sizes are available? Is there any "search" facility within a book?

Yes, I can set bookmarks in ePUBs.
Font sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large.
Yes, I've got "Find Word" for ePUB, PDF. Not for B&N PDB. Haven't tried other formats yet (are there even any other formats? Just trying Mobipocket, so far without luck).

What about academic papers? Can you make some pictures of how the reader handles a document like this ? I'm intersted in the first and second page.

It's one of those things that there are pros and cons, with, as most things. I find that the "fatter" stylus is a lot more comfortable to use than the thin one that slots into the machine.

Great! Thanks - it's sounding good. I'm tempted...

My most important question: can it read non-DRM mobipocket? One site says it does, the other doesn't mention it...
.mobi and .prc don't even show in the booklist. Didn't find any way to access them (DRM free of course).

There is a global option to change the margin size, including 'none'. Does that work with PDFs?

How is the 'Define a Word' feature? From the manual, one has to select 'Define a word' from the menu, click a word, and finally choose a dictionary. I'm guessing the definition is on a whole new page and not a small popup on the bottom of the page. Also, the manual makes it seems like selecting the word REQUIRES the stylus. Please try with the flipbar.

Hey, how about comparing the page turn speeds with the Sony 900?

Hey mgmueller,
Gute Arbeit Mann! =)
Have two questions for you:
Can you add notes to pages? how quick is it with turning pages?
and how is it with complex pdfs?

I would also appreciate pics from a similar PDF, if possible!

It's slightly faster than Sony 900 for turning pages.
Haven't found any note taking feature so far.
