Unhappy PRS500 Page turn slows down toward the end of a book

Sometimes when reading pdf formated books, the page turn slows down when I get fairly far through the book. Has anyone else had this problem?

Never noticed. Then again, I've never actually read an entire book in PDF when I had my 500.

I don't read PDF formatted books but have you tried smaller PDF files to see if it is the same with all PDF files or just with ones over a certain size?

You do say sometimes, so I am thinking it may well be a file-size issue.

I generally do not read PDFs on the Reader; however, I did get a number of PDFs formatted for the Reader from BlackMask about 18 months ago and I had no problem with them. There was no change in the time required for page turns from the start to the finish within a book.

Yes it does seam to happen with the longer PDF books. I will try converting these to LFRs before I read them in future.

The only reason I use PDFs is that the format it likely to be around longer than LFR, and I don’t want to have to covert my whole library in two years time when LFR is dropped for something newer.

PDF > LRF will usually end up in a mess. PDF > anything will be the same sort of mess. The problem is that there is no software that can convert without introducing errors.
