HD Kindle Fire Won't Sync

My Kindle Fire HD 7 (2013) won't sync. I've tried everything but a factory reset.
Any ideas? The WiFi has been off since April. I just turned it on and it won't sync. I tried restarting it.

I can reach the stores just fine but my library is seriously outdated.

Can you use your tablet to go to Manage my Kindle. Send something to the fire. Then try sync.
That woke my sync up.

I did. It sync only the books everything else is outdated. I deregister then re-registered it. Hoping that fixes it. If not factory reset it is.

It seems to be working right again. I wish I could have fixed it without wiping it though.

It does seem my Kindle component updated and now I have Bookerly not that I use this tablet for reading. It was my gaming/movie tablet. I was thinking of giving it to hubby. Now I have to rethink it. It's pretty useless. No Google Play will work, No YouTube and it's slow as a turtle.

I use my fire primarily for Facebook and cookbooks. Mine is the first fire.
I prefer my Samsung Galaxy for everyday tablet use. I have an old basic kindle with buttons for reading.

Hubby has the first generation. The HD is third generation. The new Fires are so much nicer and less limited.

It's back on the shelf. I needed a break from dealing with it. I love my Kindle Fire HD 6.

I had sync issues with my HD 7, I think it eventually cleared up. I had not turned it on for awhile and it just took some much longer period of time than expected.
