Add Books Author Problem

Hi not sure what I am doing wrong

Author add book set (?P<author>.+) - (?P<title>[^_]+)

How do I get Author to come in as Samantha James and if serial to come in as Serial or in Title


when I add book Samantha James - His Wicked Ways.pdf

title comes in fine His Wicked Ways
Author come in as James Samantha

and if title has a series

Samantha James - Mckay 01 - His Wicked Ways.pdf


title comes in fine His Wicked Ways
Author comes in James - Mckay 01 Samantha

any help is appreciated.

Try this:

^((?P<author>([^\-_0-9]+)(?=\s*-\s*)(?!\s*-\s*[0-9.]+)|\b))(\s*-\s*)?((?P<series>[^0-9\-]+)(\s*-\s*)?(?P<series_index>[0-9.]+)\s*-\s*)?(?P<title>[^\-_0-9]+)

I know it's complicated, but it works on yours and many many more.
