No surprise there, we've saying that since Oct 2. You don't need a tear down to see that, just tilt the screen toward you and look into the bottom bezel area!

What it was strange there was when the guy discovered a spot on the leds - bottom right, he touched with his screwdriver and it was turning on. Is it because his tool was magnetized?

Somebody needs to cover the light with some paint or filter or something and see if you could get a warmer light and a beige / cream background.

If it wasn't for the capacitive layer, we could strip off that light distributing layer and have ordinaray e-ink screen in higher resolution
