So, After just reading a female First-Person narrative in the form of Drity Martini, I didn't want to read the same sort, so I read The Card Catalog by Carla Hayden, a non-fic on the history of cataloguing library collections.
Now I am reading All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka |

Finished reading The Case of the Fabulous Fake by Erle Stanley Gardner. A perfect read for a quite weekend. Typical Perry Mason and one of his headstrong clients headed for disaster. Love it.

Which I enjoyed, as I did Analog SFF, May/June 2018. It also included the third and final part of a serial, so I read that too.
I'm re-reading Needle by Hal Clement, and as I bought the third part of Zahn's most recent Cobra trilogy in January, I'm also starting on the first part of the trilogy, which I bought back in June 2013, Cobra Slave. |

Currently reading and listening to next month's New Leaf Book Club selection, The Three Musketeers, by Alexandre Dumas, père. I'm switching back and forth between two translations, the Pevear and the Hobson, for the reading portion, but the audio book, narrated by John Lee, is, unfortunately, using one or another of the Victorian translations. A rousing swashbuckler, with the Hobson translation currently being my preferred, but the Pevear is excellent as well. |

Finished All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Interesting premise, sort of a Groundhog's Day meets Halo or something.
Haven't decided what to read next, though... plenty in my TBR, just have to see what inspires me. I am next in line for The Three Musketeers at the library, good thing I have the better part of a month. |

I can recommend the movie version, The Edge of Tomorrow, or Live, Die, Repeat depending on where you live. Emily Blunt in particular is good. I enjoyed both the book and the movie, although they are different in tone and details of the plot.

I am reading Zombies versus Aliens versus Vampires versus Dinosaurs by Jeff Abugov. As the title implies, this book is to literature what Sharknado is to cinema. Last edited by poohbear_nc; 05-21-2018 at 06:55 PM. |

So I've just finished The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness, which is just a huge amount of fun and a quick read. It's about the other group of kids in town, the ones who are not trying to stop an apocalypse, or being "the chosen one", just try to figure out love, friendship and hoping to graduate, assuming the High School doesn't get blown up first. |

Currently reading Chai Chai by Bishwanath Ghosh, a delightful travelogue which reveals the lives of people in towns of India beyond railway station yards, in an effort to discover what lay beyond the platform as one travelled across the cities. Very interesting read. |

Meanwhile, interspersed with reading The Three Musketeers for the New Leaf Book Club, I just finished Freedom's Landing, an old Anne McCaffrey novel that I had somehow missed when it released in the mid-80's. Not bad. |

Just finished The Reality Dysfunction by Peter F. Hamilton. I liked it quite a bit, 1300 pages went by quickly. Starting book 2 now, The Neutronium Alchemist.
