About a FlightCrew remark
Hi
I produce EPUBs on MobileRead using writer2xhtml. The end result is usually without problem. However FlightCrew reports, for each chapter, the following and same -minor- defect: Unable to find validator for simple type of attribute 'media' I reported this as a bug last year and have been recently told to contact you on the forum. http://code.google.com/p/sigil/issues/detail?id=887 Here is one exemple book which suffers this validation problem: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...20#post1978620 Please, do tell what I must write and where. If need be, I will inform the writer2xhtml author. Thank you |

Try placing the media directives in the CSS itself instead of in the xhtml <link /> tag.

Isn't "all" redundant as it is the default?

Yes well, this is funny....
- Flightcrew reports an error - Epubcheck reports no error (at lat not with this attribute ... ) - A Quick glance on "Open Publication Structure (OPS) 2.0.1" shows, that there's actually no reason, that the attribute is within the <link>-tag (devices may just ignore it). My best sugestion: toss it out ! If, for any unexpected reason, a media directive is nessessary, then ist should be, as foretold, in CSS. |

It wouldn't be redundant if there were other stylesheets to be added in addition to (based on media-type) one that contains all the common elements... but it is extraneous if there's only one stylesheet to be linked, or there's multiple stylesheets which all have the 'all' media attribute.

Hi
writer2xhtml will follow your proposal for the -incoming- 119 version of the extension. Henrik Just: "The media attribute is correct, so FlightCrew should not complain. On the other hand it is not needed, so I have now removed it." Thank you for taking time to comment on it. |
