Plastic Logic Reader

Pour ceux que ça intéresse...

Récemment de passage en Angleterre, je me suis payé un magazine anglais avec une revue des eReader, et notamment un entrefilet sur les produits qui devraient sortir bientôt. Rien de bien spécial (Kindle MKII, PRS 700, iRex 1000), à part le Plastic Logic Reader.

Je suis allé voir sur leur site web (http://www.plasticlogic.com/product.html), et même s'il n'y a pas beaucoup à voir, la machine à l'air sympa comme tout, avec un bel écran 8.5inx11in et une platitude à faire rougir Jane Birkin. Sortie prévue, soit-disant, début 2009. Moi, le machin m'intéresse beaucoup...

C'est un appareil très prometteur oui, j'aime beaucoup son design et il devrait être très solide vu la technologie employée pour l'écran.
Reste à voir le prix, vu que c'est un périphérique orienté pro, il risque d'être assez couteux...

Et il promet d'être aussi lourd qu'un Irex. Donc recommandé seulement aux personnes qui ne trouvent pas ce format de liseuse trop encombrant, et qui trouvent les Irex trop fragiles.
Personnellement si ce format me convenait, j'aurais déjà pris le nouvel Irex.

L'interview à la TV hollandaise où on voit un Digital Reader se casser en direct est en effet assez mauvais pour iRex en terme de communication...

On dirait une vidéo réalisée pour un blog, pas par une télé aux moyens milliardaires chargée de convaincre le petit téléspectateur qu'il doit sérieusement s'équiper de nouvelles marchandises pour son bien-être névrotique et celui du capitalisme spectaculaire.
L'intervieweur...au vu de ses manières, on dirait un boxeur..et ça fait du bien, surtout quand il n'hésite pas à mettre totalement K.O. le produit qu'il teste, et à ouvertement s'en moquer en plus!

Disponibilité du "Plastic Logic Reader"

AMHA, comme pout toute nouvelle technologie électronique , il faut s'attendre à du retard et un démarrage assez lent.

Un autre problème sera sans sa diffusion restreinte s'il est limité au marché professionnel.

C'est le cas des Irex difficiles à trouver en France , car son importateur le destine plutôt au marché professionnel.( Pour en avoir un peu discuté avec eux, ils semblent tout surpris que plus de la moitié de leur client soient des particuliers)

Quand au cas particulier de L'Irex Reader 1000, après presque 2 mois d'utilisation sans précaution particulière, je n'ai pas constaté de fragilité spécifique. C'est un système électronique , donc à traiter comme tout autre système électronique, et tout se passera bien.
