In addition to what davidfor said, have you also enabled 'Large Print Mode' in the Beta Features? If so, maybe that's one of the reasons why it is beta

OK, as I had no camera on hand, I used a picture from other guy that I thought had the same problem. I was trying to show graphically the "defect" (in fact, it does not bother to much).
I had this problem from the beginning, and without any patch. I have no patches related to fonts, nor "large print Mode" enabled, but some fonts sideloaded. With the fonts sideloaded, the "advance" option does not appear. The problem only appear with the built-in fonts. If you have some hints, I can try to check any option you can consider the culprit of this behaviour. Actual picture from my H2O ed2: Last edited by JIPG-reader; 01-01-2018 at 05:42 AM. @JIPG-reader: In that case, you are definitely seeing something wrong. I tested on the original Aura H2O and would have expected them to be the same for this (same screen size and resolution). I'll have another fiddle and see if it I can get it to happen. Or I'll borrow my Dads Aura H2O2 when I see him. Leaving it in Spanish should be a bit of fun. But, it would also mean a "support" call, so maybe not.

I do not want to put you in trouble with your parents! . Just only if you can guess a reason (maybe the margins?) that can produce this behaviour is more than enough . Actually I have a patch to reduce the maximum width of the margin (the original one made the zone of text to appear just a "thin column"), but it should not affect, and if I remember well I had the problem before patching. The margin slider is near 50% but without the patch it should be closer to the left, just three steps. I have only a few patches: the time showing the clock, the one to reduce the maximum width of the margin and the one to solve the problems of kepubs in full screen. No problem with 4.7.10364 installed in Aura One but it happens with 4.7.10413 installed in Aura Ed 2. No font patch neither 'Large Print Mode'. Both readers are in Spanish.
No problem with 4.7.10413 installed in Aura One (with the same patches than Aura Ed 2 or without them). Last edited by Terisa de morgan; 01-01-2018 at 07:02 AM. |

No screen refresh in library after updating to 4.7.10413
Product: Kobo H2O
Firmware: 4.7.10413 Plugins: None File types: N/A Sideloaded or from Kobobooks: N/A On external SD: N/A Steps to reproduce:
Workaround: None Update: Actually 3.19.5761 is the last version that works. Although it might just be a problem with my device, maybe the ribbon cable is a bit loose. Still weird that it only causes trouble starting from the 4.* firmware versions. Update 2: Got fixed by a factory reset, in case anyone has the same issue. I'm occasionally seeing pages in books partially refreshing as well. Toggling the header fixes it.

I don't know when this particular new feature was added, but I just encountered it on my H2O after updating to 4.7. I'd just sideloaded some books, and a popup window came up that listed five or six books I'd accidentally opened, observed that they were at 1% and hadn't been touched in a while, and kindly offered to flag them as Unread.
The unexpected, and quite annoying, part is that when I said yes, it moved those right to the top of my Recent sort, inconveniently burying the books I'd just loaded under several that it knew I wasn't interested in at present. A much better option would've been to record the last-open dates for the affected books, flip the books to Unread, then "touch" the books to set the last-mod dates to the recorded ones. That way, nothing moves in the list. |

On my Aura ONE running 4.7.10413, I've recently noticed that the device time is wildly out. The device date on the other hand, is accurate.
For example I reset the time on Wednesday afternoon, and now (9:46am) the clock is at 11:46am. That's exactly 2 hours out, but I'm sure on Wednesday it was out some different number. |

Time being wrong isn't a bug. It should autosync the time when it has an internet connection. If you haven't connected in a while, it is inevitable that the clock would drift.
Accurate hardware clocks are expensive and power hungry. Cheap clocks may be poorly calibrated, but even if they are not, it is tricky to compensate for temperature induced drift. The oldest method to do so involves a crystal (expensive) with a temperature stabilized heater (power hungry) (aka ocxo). Those tend to be a bit big also and might not fit in the thinner devices. I don't enable wifi, so the device is maintaining the time by itself.
I agree with you, clocks drift. But gaining 2 hours in 2 days is not a reasonable drift. 2 seconds maybe, or even a little more, is much more reasonable. |
