Question Update Rocket EBook Pro from 1.3.80 to 2.0.305?

Hi,

after looking some months to the Kindle which doesnt sell at this time in Germany I remembered my trusty old Rocket EBook Pro (16MB)
and reactivated it :-))

I did connect it via a USB-Adapter and the Dockingstation to the Virtual-Windows inside my iMac.

With the "old" 1.3.222 RocketLibrarian I can create new Books on my Device (got it from the flea market some time ago) and with the ebookLibrarian 2.0.241 (OK, I did found now the 2.0.244 update) I could also sync the device.

The eBook Librarian(tm) 2.0.241/244 tells me about a "former" availabe upgrade, because mine device wasnt upgradeded before:

Contacting server (http://librarian.gemstarebook.com:80/rb_nuvo.cgi).
Please wait ...

It has the Software-Version RocketEngine 1.3.80.
Now I had read about the 2.0.305 which seems to be available to the REB1100 , so I want to aks if is there a possibility to update my device or should I stay with the 1.3.80?

Thanks for information in advance and
friendly regards from Germany
Guido

As far as I know, when Gemstar shutdown their servers, that was the end of the upgrades. I've never found a way to do it and am not sure it would be worth it since they seem to have gotten it right the first time.

Stay with what you have. The REB1100 didn't let you convert .html or .txt into .rb, and I'm wondering if the upgrade wouldn't simply rob the old Rocket of this functionality.
