PRS-600 Is it available in Sony Stores right now?

I am seeing reviews and thoughts crop up, before I take the trip, is PRS-600 available for purchase right now, or do they just currently have demo models available?

Some lucky people could buy a unit in Canada. Don't think there are any on sale in US yet. Also, eBook Library 3.0 is still not available.
Best (as usual) to call the store before you go there.

Thanks for the quick reply, our Canadian friends are lucky indeed, the salesman hinted that they have supply but cannot sell until the official release date

(a day or 2) he took my name and number and will call me when he can sell.

Do you need the eBook library software if all you're going to be using is ePub files?

If you have only DRM-free files then you can get by without. However, I just mentioned it as another sign that the official release hasn't happened yet. Also, we don't know if ADE will work with the new devices without installing EBL 3.0.

Definitely in Canada, it came into the Vancouver Sony store late Friday afternoon.

HEADS UP: 300 and 600 have been pulled off the shelves in Canada and they won't let you see them until after the press conference.

You do need either eBook Library or Calibre if you want to use collections.

I've been trying to order the 600 in Canada for almost a week or at least it feels like that, at the sonystyle.ca site the 600 is out of stock, but perhaps if the 600 and 300 have been pulled from the stores till tomorrow perhaps the order button will reappear tomorrow, I certainly hope so, as I can't get to a store for several weeks.

It's still there in the states. that would make no sense.

It's available for preorder now at Sonystyle Canada with anticipated date of arrival on the 27th.

It depends on if the current Sony Ebook software will connect the 300/600 to ADE to allow it to be authorized. You can NOT use ADE on the 505/700 without installed the Sony eBook Library to get the "driver" needed.
