Can I Upgrade?

Hi new to the site& e books in general.
I think my girlfriend got me the Sony reader for Christmas, but I think she got the 500. Anyone know of a way to exchange or upgrade to the 505?

Other than selling the 500 as used and buying a new 505, I don't think there is another way to upgrade. You may find overseas buyers at good prices as it's not easy for us (outside US) to get hold on one of those

Well hopfully she saved the reciept. I think she got it at our local borders. I'm not even sure they sell the 505.

Borders doesn't take the units back unless they're broken, but perhaps if they now have the 505 in stock they would exchange the older discontinued model for the newer model. They do not take returns for refunds, though. At least they didn't when I bought the 500 back in March.
