No release this week
Just a heads up, that there will not be a release this week.
Apple decided to change how code signing works in their recent 10.9.5 release, so I have to create a whole new build machine for calibre on OS X. Le sigh. |

Does this mean you must now make 2 mac releases? And users must figure out which one they need? Oh joy.

No, Apple claims that the new code signing is backwards compatible. Whether that is true or not, I will have to check.
EDIT: There are apparently two versions of signatures, version 1 and version 2. The new code signing tool in 10.9.5 is supposed to generate both and old versions of OS X are supposed to fallback to version 1. |

What I find interesting is that with all the open scorn for Windows (even from Windows users), Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 have the least issues with Calibre 2.x (at least from what I am reading on MR).

And now, thanks to this: http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2014/q3/685
I have to spend a day updating all the various servers used for the calibre website/downloads. Hopefully, I will be able to get it all done without interfering with another release. Last edited by kovidgoyal; 09-25-2014 at 01:23 AM. |
