I can't help you as I downgraded from the menu, but you seem to be in good hands. That makes me curious:
Why did you want to use the serial port rather than downgrading from the menu?

Because that was the only way on a bricked device to enter diags.
It bricked before he could add RP or CRP.

still didnt repair it
flashed amazon 5.8.1 from site over 5.7.4 factory, still bad screen
any other ideas?

the same error code 2
so. started again from 5.7.4.1 initial
went into diag, and chose U pdate from bin. after i've put 5.8.1 from amazon
updated, the same screen error and code 2
tried also with 5.8.2
same

noticed something. the amazon updates are smaller than the initial update
574 initial has 700mb, 581/582 has about 200mb
so maybe im not using what i should?

You first downgraded from the menu or started right from the beginning with the serial console? This will not help you solve your problem but I still didn't get when things started to go wrong.

So to make things clear: each images you tried (did you verify the md5 against the ones posted on this forum to make sure your files were not corrupted?) you ended up with this "error 2"?

now i made some advancement
after 5.4.7.1 factory
updated to 5.9.6 from amazon latest
it repaired!
so i guess it sees that i had a greater version before so 5.4.7.1 was corrupting something!
so no downgrading whatsoever!
now onto jb-ing!

ok, i think/ hope i am jb, there is the dev key in the folder.
kual didnt install, dunno why, but will troubleshoot more tomorrow, its very late
