I don't understand you very well. All those ereaders allow you to browse you Android directory and to pick the epub you want to read. Moreover, you can import a full folder if you wish.

That would explain why I can't find it when I search for it...
What Android version do you have? Maybe your Android System Webview is outdated and then for that reason your epubs don't display correctly. With any of the ereaders I cited, you should see something like this:

But take into account that Readera DOESN'T SUPPORT the property float properly.

But once the books are imported, they can only be accessed in a "flattened" manner. I can't select "Files" mode and then browse among the imported books on a folder-by-folder mode - I can only browse in (f.ex.) Author mode where it'll show ALL the books by a particular author, regardless of where in the directory structure the file is located.

Say, I have three books, all by H.G. Wells. For whatever reason, I have put these in three different folders:

/Genres/Fantasy
/Genres/SciFi
/Genres/Romance

Also, in /Genres/SciFi I have the following sub-folders on my SD Card:

/Genres/SciFi/Star Trek
/Genres/SciFi/Star Trek/The Original Series
/Genres/SciFi/Star Wars
/Genres/SciFi/Blake's 7

In some of these folders are also books with author "H.G. Wells".

Now, I like that I can see all books by "H.G. Wells" across all folders, but I also like that I can browse to /Genres/SciFi/Star Trek/The Original Series and only see the books that exist in that folder (regardless of author/collection/series/whatever defined in the .ePub file).

ReadEra is the only eBook reader I have seen that allows me to browse among the imported files, "filtering" them on their location in the directory structure.

I've found one other reader today that allows this, but unfortunately it had the same issue with rendering my text-aligned-to-image parts, so that one was uninstalled again as well.

It says so in my profile on the left . I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ with all updates. Currently that means Android 13.

They (probably) do. That's not my issue with these other readers. My issue with them is not allowing me to browse my book collection by folder. Instead they completely ignore the directory structure I have set up, "flattening" the books as if they were in one big folder all of them. When you have 2000+ eBooks online, you want to have some structure and not a 2000 books long list that you have to scroll through.

What I'm trying to say is that these other readers completely ignore the directory structure I have set up. I would get the exact same interface and browsing opportunities in the reader if I put all my 2000+ eBooks in one directory.

Hmmm. I totally get wanting to sort/filter by genre. I haven’t seen many eReaders that care what folder structure you have set on your computer. Instead I have seen where the book file itself has the genre selected in it’s metadata (.opf file). Then sorting/filtering is based on the capabilities of the app, not your folders.

Luckily, Calibre allows you to edit the metadata of whole groups of books at once. It wouldn’t take that long to edit thousands of books.

I get that - but then I'd have to remember to do that every time I add a new book, instead of having it automagically done for me (just by placing it in the folder it's going to be in anyway).

Too lazy to do that, I'm afraid

Why do I sometimes get a "moderator has to approve your message" and other times not? Just got one on my reply to you... Let's see if this one slips through...

Anytime someone says: "Dion, you’re absolutely correct- and super handsome, too!!" The moderators like to confirm. Don’t worry, it happens ALL the time…

So, in other words, I should keep a copy of the message in the clipboard in case it happens, and then just fire it away once more?

Got it

Firing away again will be a good way to have the moderators extremely unhappy with you. See the Guidelines => Posting Guidelines => Duplication.

Not certain if the "humour" in the response by @Turtle91 was missed?
