I have a Pocketbook inkpad lite. It has no sound but I can connect to the internet.
When I had the Kindle Keyboard 3, I installed a program written in python on the computer, and then on the Kindle Keyboard 3 I opened the Web browser and wrote an IP in the URL bar. In the external Internet page on my Kindle, the PC Desktop appeared. I also tried without success with RemoteInk. |

I tried once RemoteInk and it worked as expected. Note that it expects the Linux host to run a X11 server but most Linux distributions have switched to Wayland. Did you checked that? |

Here is the Github with the source code: https://github.com/DarkTrick/kindle_eMonitor Note that it's not really screen sharing. Just a web server sending screenshots of the top-left corner of the host computer screen to the Kindle. Nothing is needed on the client but a web browser to display the screenshots. And PocketBook e-readers do have a web browser. I don't see any reason this wouldn't work with a PocketBook or any machine with a web browser ! (If you know the IP adress of your computer, you should be able to remove the socket used to connect to amazon.com). Last edited by orontee; 02-09-2025 at 02:39 AM. |

The problem is
If we could modify the source code Let's make the touchscreen work too. |

Not sure I understand what you want to say. From a legal point of view, the code source is publicly available on Github but the owner didn't set a license; Thus we're theoretically only free to read the code and fork the project... That's all! That said I won't expect lawyers knocking at your door if you clone and modify those lines of code
![]() Then you'll have to use a dedicated protocol, something like RDP or VNC (I am not expert on those topic, so people correct me if I am wrong). For VNC, there's https://github.com/brainrom/pbvnc but it doesn't implement any kind of authentication. It's easy to build and I successfully shared some text; Didn't try to share a screen since my computers have RDP, not VNC. |
