Tales of magic and derring-do. Amazon.com has them for you.

A man who, with his trusty cat, wages a war against the last vowel in his name. Two books from the Fafhrd and Gray Mouser series by Fritz Lieber.

The 4th book. Swords Against Wizardry for $1.99.
The 7th book. The Knight and Knave of Swords for $1.99.

Then a book written by Smokey's cousin, Greg Bear. He doesn't give a damn about forest fires, but will write for honey.

A sequel to The Infinity Concerto. The Serpent Mage for $1.99.

A. D. Foster - The Damned Trilogy

I believe at least for today there is a discount to $1.99 for this trilogy, "The Damned Trilogy: A Call to Arms, The False Mirror, and The Spoils of War"

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I only read the first one, and it was pretty nice, and a bit humorous, with a device used also in other series (e.g. The Human Chronicles, by T.R. Harris, Elizabeth Mackey) where humans are the physically strongest and fastest in the Galaxy.
Funny enough

Resume:
For millennia, the Weave, an alliance of species, have fought to resist the telepathic Amplitur, who strive to unite all self-aware life-forms in their great “Purpose.” The Weave is slowly losing ground, but for both sides, warfare focuses more on outthinking and outmaneuvering your foe than destruction. In fact, most regard violence as hideously barbaric, and even the thought of harming another sentient being is beyond imagining.

Then they come to Earth . . .
