Amazon Down?
Amazon suddenly asked for my password. When I entered it, it said that the password was incorrect. I normally use LastPass to log in. I copied and pasted the password, still incorrect. I typed the password out. Still incorrect. I requested a new password. Typed it in... Password incorrect. No matter what I do, Amazon is not letting me access my account and says that my password is incorrect, even after resetting it and typing it very specifically.
Just curious if it's happening to others, or if it's time to e-mail Amazon... |

Amazon.com still says that my password is incorrect, even after resetting it a second time. So I did some research, and it appears that Amazon.com telling you that your password is incorrect even after resetting it means that your account has been banned. Why Amazon.com would ban my account, I have no idea. Time for me to call Amazon...

I received an e-mail message from an Amazon.com account specialist that my account has been reinstated. Nothing about why my account was temporarily banned. Still, at least it's been reinstated.

Probably a 'computer glitch', which in my experience means, somebody screwed up.

Agreed. In addition to eBooks, I also purchase digital comic books and graphic novels through Amazon's Comixology. I have literally thousands on my Amazon.com account. This incident is seriously making me consider strictly buying DRM-free digital comic books and graphic novels from this point forward.

I wholeheartedly agree, and I already did/do with the Kindle eBooks I purchase. However, it's a different story with the digital comic books and graphic novels on Amazon's Comixology, as the vast majority are DRM-ladened. Only digital comic books and graphic novels sold by a few small publishers are able to be backed up.
