Split screen size Calibre

I have calibre (6.3) on my laptop (previously windows 10, now windows 11 - problem is on both) and also read on my laptop.

When editing metadata in calibre, I usually work with split screen 50/50. So I can quickly edit information without changing tabs each time.
Recently Calibre has refused to size to 50% of my screen, it takes now about 2/3 of my screen. I can't resize it.
It is the only program that has this difficulty. It only goes away when I go to the settings on my computer (settings->display->advanced->display size) it default setting is 150%, if it put it on 100% the issue of the screen size of calibre stops. But this makes the layout of everything else so small it is not userfriendly, so it is not a solution.
I think that calibre somehow takes the with of half my screen and does x1,50 (from the 150%).

Can I do something to stop this or fix this somewhere?

(I'm not very technical so any advice you give will have to be written out step by step.)

Make sure you have the latest video (graphics card) drivers for your Laptop.

Given that you have Windows 11, there's no reason not to try the latest version. Nobody is going to fix anything if there is a problem with 6.3. But if you are using the latest 7.x version and there is a problem, it will be sorted if possible.

So upgrade to 7.x and see what happens.

Sometimes the latest graphics driver can be the problem.

Rather than UPGRADE to 7.x, just install calibre Portable 7.x and create a new mini library and test it. Nothinbg prevents you having both calibre NON portable and calibre portable install at the same time.
