Ad-supported kindle works internationally?

Hi guys.

I'm contemplating buying a new ad-supported kindle (probably the new $79USD model) and I live outside the US. Amazon won't ship it outside the US, but I can get one shipped to an US address. Do you guys know if it will work around here (and if I'll be able to purchase books with it)?

Yes, it will work fine, but you won't be able to use any of the special offers.

You might not be able to register it, though, depending on how strict Amazon is about that sort of thing. I wouldn't take the chance, myself.

Yes, you will. The question has been raised before with Kindle Customer Service, and they've said that there's absolutely no problem. They won't ship them outside the US, but there's no issue with them being bought in the US, and then taken to other countries.
