And, in typical, let's-not-think-this-through Kobo fashion, quite a few of the books that show up in the sale lists for me are already priced at $0.99 to $1.99, so why in the world would I buy 5 of them for $15, which works out to $3.00 each?

Sigh - Kobo sort of tries, but they just seem to have trouble making sense a lot of the time...

They seem to have done better here in the UK where the offer is 5 books for £5. After a quick browse most of the books in the offer are priced at £1.99 and higher.

I just added 5 of the really cheap ones to my cart to see what would happen. They gave a message good news this book is part of a deal and click to view deal. The last one said great you just got the deal view cart. Then the cart shows before savings $7.15, total savings 0.00. At least they didn't try to charge $15.00, right?

It would have been fun to see the savings as negative:

total before savings: $7.15
total savings: -$7.85
cart price: $15.00

So that's better than I would have thought they'd do!

So Kobo (in Canada at least) is currently offering bonus Super Points when you buy & activate a new e-reader. Kinda neat, although the numbers aren't huge. 6,000 points when you buy an Aura Edition Two. 9,000 for the Aura H2O Edition 2. 12,000 for the Aura One.
