The colour e-ink reader, iReader C6 started(?) shipping in China
This is actually not considered as a piece of news, for the first batch of shipment (maybe ~2k) has finished in late April, and C6 is currently out of stock according to several major distributors' website. I'm posting this thread just because I thoungt there should be one but no . Feel free to delete this post if there're already posts about it.
Reviews in English can be esaily found on google. And here's some more in Chinese in case you'd like to have a glimpse: https://item.jd.com/100006619575.html https://search.bilibili.com/all?keyword=ireader%20c6 Spec-wise, it's a typical 6" device weighing 170g, with 2000mAh bettery and 1GB RAM + 16GB internal storage. The screen technology seems to be identical with Hisense A5Cs (mentioned before here), both 300ppi (mono) and 4096 colors. Last edited by Yukari; 05-15-2020 at 12:35 PM. Reason: typo |

You can only have 300 dpi mono by splitting each pixel in half, which I grant will be 100 x 300 dpi colour over three stripes, but 1/2 the colour saturation as the cost of having twice the screen brightness of a fully colour overlay. Still has to be maybe 2/3rds brightness of an actual monoscreen.
