Kindle for iOS 5.8 released

One new feature is that you can now display the clock in the upper-left of the window when a book is open. Pretty cool, and a feature some have been requesting for years.

Yeah, for years on the eInk Kindles, not the iOS Kindle app.

Well that is what happens when Bezos' Bozos don't use the devices themselves nor care what customers request. Heaven forbid they ever engage the three neurons they have left in their brains and add features like customizable margins and fonts. But boy oh boy if they can come up with another in your face useless feature to get you to buy more !@#$ from them, then you bet they will add that.

I agree. Amazon is not listening to customers needs/wants. A lot of customers want to be able to set their own margins and their own line-height and they want more/better fonts. Kindle fonts tend to not have enough weight. The front light tents to make Kindle fonts look washed out. Most people cannot get fonts on a Kindle that has better weight. Also, the second and third set to settings are worthless. So really, Amazon is not ging people much of a choice. They are treating customers like they are stupid.

This is one feature that Kobo did right and it really does help people who have vision trouble. Not only do you get many more font sizes, you also can up the weight for all the system fonts and for most people, they'll be able to find a system font to use that they are happy with.

Unfortunately Kobo's FW is a constantly fluctuating mess. And their bookstore is not in the same league as Amazon's. I tried them once, and that was a total waste of money. Great hardware, but not much else.
