Good morning, all. Big glass of fresh squeezed OJ to go with the breakfast of eggs I gathered this morning, bacon I cured and smoked last week, and bread I baked yesterday.
Now, to go with it, a big mug of Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea. |

Still there. If if get back at dusk tonight and it isn't too windy, I am going to zap them. The trap looks lovely, but hasn't attracted any wasps yet.
fresh coffee in my cup, as I procrastinate getting ready to leave. |

Just back from a trip to the credit union and a thrift store. Finishing off a Coke Zero that I picked up for the road.

India Pale Ales
I'm not sure the Wikipedia article does justice to the range of beers called IPA. Aside from the differences between English and East Coast American and West Cost American, there is a great range in the amount of hops used in the brewing. I'm only familiar with what is available in Ontario, but IPAs can range from the fairly mild Keith's IPA to Mad Tom's IPA and Flying Monkey's Smash Bomb Atomic IPA, which is very bitter, too bitter for my taste. There is a measurement called IBU (International Bitterness Unit) which ranges from 10 or 15 for Keiths up to 75 or more for the Flying Monkey brews. You really need to experiment with IPAs to see just how hoppy you like your beer.

IPA is short for India Pale Ale. But that is a description with a lot of variation. In all cases it means an ale, obviously, not a lager. And it should have a distinct hops character without overpowering bitterness. O'Keith's is a fairly mild bitterness, but balanced.

Iced water. I'll have my Coca-cola later on, perhaps after some gardening.

Well, I still haven't got to the gardening, but I now have a Coca-cola to hand.
