Quantity

I'm aiming for 30 books/stories, give or take. It kind of just depends on how rough writing my MA thesis is.

Quality

I'm aiming to read more Anglo/American literature. I've spent some time reading French literature, but people ask me about anything in English and I completely blank on what I've read. Maybe this will be the year I finally read Beowulf.

Wasn't able to edit at first, I didn't realize I needed to post more!

1. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
2. Frog - Mo Yan
3. The History of Sexuality, vol 1 - Michel Foucault
4. The Golden Age - Wang Xiaobo
5. The Serpent's Lust - Ueda
6. Waste Tide - Chen Qiufan
7. Dream of Ding Village - Yan Lianke
8. Fingal - Ossian
9. A Continuation of Lucan's Historical Poem - Thomas May

I’m joining, just with the goal of recording what I read so it doesn’t disappear into the ether.
I forgot I had read some of the books on my list from last year, so it was pretty interesting for me to see that. I also want to read some French and Spanish books along the way.

January
The Half-Blood Prince JKR (reread) 4/5
The Tales of Beedle the Bard JKR 3/5
The Deathly Hallows JKR (reread) 4/5
It’s A Battlefield, Graham Greene 3/5 New read
A Gun For Sale, Graham Greene 4/5 Reread, but last time was when I was a teen, many moons ago, so basically like reading a whole new book.
The Swimmers, Julie Otsuka 3.5/5 Unusual
Mrs. McGinty's Dead, A. Christie 4/5 re-re-reread Superb
The Christie Affair, Nina de Gramont 4/5 Truly exceptional
Night Shift, Robin Cook 2/5

Most of the books I read in January were in the first few days of the month, still holiday season plus new Scribe equaled mucho reading.

February
Intervention, Robin Cook 4/5, much more interesting than the recent one (Night Shift), that he wrote in his sleep.
Token Black Girl, Danielle Prescod, 4/5, an excellent memoir
The Guest List, Lucy Foley, 1/5, a mystifying popular author
The Hypnotist's Love Story, Leanne Moriarty, 3.5/5
