Crazy book pricing isn't just ebooks

I had to laugh when I came across this while browsing the Kindle bestsellers (it's currently going for $0.00 as an ebook). $126.09 for a romance-genre MMPB? Maybe new copies come with a voucher for added services...

Some of the third party booksellers put insane amounts on out of print titles. There are a few hobby textbooks for an online course that are out of print because of mergers and closures, and people have them listed for $400! Now if people are actually paying that, I should sell, but since they are still listed, I suspect no on is that insane.

Yeah, Risen used (mmpb) goes for $2.46 to nearly $40. Go figure. I'm thinking of raising the price to $10 million. I'd only have to sell one.

Is it still free to list things on amazon? If it is, there isn't really anything to lose by being optimistic. It would also help with Ebay bids if people check the Amazon price before bidding. And you never know ...

But you would still need to sell that one so it strikes me that you would still have a problem.

I see the top price has now gone up to $301.34. This paperback is obviously highly collectible!

I saw some books outrageously priced too. They're out of print and collectible, you say? If the owners think they're that valuable, they should seek out someone who deals in rare and out of print books. But more power to them if they do. I have a few books that look like antiques too.
