Update: first line of severe storms rolled through. Now a second line is approaching ... signing off and sheltering in the roost for a while.

Well, we were doing just fine until somebody had to go and jinx it!
After a day of cool breezes and sunshine ... now we have torrential downpours and thunder in the distance. |

There's more on the way! We've just had our 3rd line of storms rumble through - unbelievable torrential rains - still going on now!

We had lightning and rumbling thunder for the past 7 hours, but no rain. Now that the light show and sound effects have stopped, we're finally getting a little light rain. Oh wait ... I think it's stopped already. Gee, a whole 3 minutes! Radar is showing we're getting rain, but I think we're stuck in a doughnut hole 'cause there's nothing falling here. It's only expected to reach 98F today. Brrr. |

HUMIDITY 51%, Partly Cloudy, small 10mph breeze, but still to be mid to low 90'sF.
Not too bad other than feeling like the air is kind of thick. |

Our humidity > 70% -- waiting for storms to fire up -- very 'soupy' thick air ...

Speaking of which -- it was a beautiful, cool, clear night to watch NASA's launch of the LADEE lunar mission from way down in Virginia. Clearly saw the first stage burning, the "light" went out, and then the second stage lit up and flew north (from my perspective) until the local "mountain" blocked it. More than bright enough to be visible through the glow of NYC on the eastern horizon.
Second best launch I've seen! (I was in Florida for the launch of STS-135, the last shuttle.) |

Nice and quiet here after a crazy busy yesterday and it is only 84F. pooh just reminded me that the lawn and other yard work still has to get done today before we move into the 100F+ temps.
I wonder if I can just close the shades and pretend the yard isn't out there? |
