Timothy Hallinan: The Bone Polisher

I've just learned that a book in Timothy Hallinan's "Simeon Grist" series of mysteries will be free as an ebook on Amazon on March 10, 11 and 12. I haven't read a bad book from Hallinan. He has three series currently: Simeon Grist (6 novels written and published in the 1990s) about a "sort of" private detective in L.A.; Poke Rafferty (4 novels, with a 5th on the way) about an American travel writer in Bangkok, Thailand, his Thai wife and their adopted street-child daughter (thrillers); Junior Bender (2 books, a 3rd on the way), a consummate thief who keeps getting roped into doing things for other criminals. The Junior Bender books are thrilling, touching and hillarious, and are on my short list of all-time favorites.

If you've never read anything by Hallinan, here's a chance to dip your toes for free! Highly recommended!!! (The Bone Polisher is the 6th book in the Simeon Grist series, but each book really is a stand-alone novel. While there are some character developments and some on-going characters, you won't miss much by starting with this one.)
