The article says 'likely' to....that's not a definite.

If they (Amazon or E Ink Holdings) do, it had better not be the same eInk Triton technology as used on the jetBook Color. That wouldn't go down well at all. I'll believe this (colour EPD device from Amazon) when I see it on sale.

I don't understand color ereaders. All the books I buy are in black and white - is this just to be able to change the font colors?

I've been hoping for something like this. I hope they put a couple models out with color eInk.

Price point is key. It had better be less expensive than the Fire.
If it happens. This has been rumored for ages. |

Not if it is e-ink. The Fire is LCD.
I am a geek but not a techno geek so I have no idea what most of the above means. I am trusting that the reporter knows the difference between e-reader and tablet but I could be wrong. Also, the idea that it is launching in 2012, and the Fire is already launched, makes me think that this is color e-ink or something similar. |

I have been playing on my IPad for the last three weeks after work for many an hour and I cannot say that I have felt any eye strain. I know that there is a debate regarding this but I think that many folks can deal with the LCD screens pretty well.
I know I would not pay more than $150 for an e-reader at this point. If Amazon is able to put out a color e-reader and keep at that price point they are going to make a killing. I don't necessarily believe that a color e-reader is coming but I know that there are many people who seem interested in one. |

Another thread(on MR) says that a source at eink says that the Amazon color eink reader for 2012 is not going to happen.
