Question Failed feed: Tips_<urlopen error [Errno 11004] getaddrinfo failed>

Hi everybody,
Calibre 2.21 (64bit) (on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate) "Fetch news" downloaded "How to Geek", but when I want to view it, I get a blank page with this:

Failed feed: Tips

<urlopen error [Errno 11004] getaddrinfo failed>

Now, what should I do? Thanks in advance for your help

Can we see the log? Click Jobs (bottom right corner), select the News download job, and click the "Show Job Details" button.

Without further info I will hazard a guess -- something is blocking calibre from connecting to the internet, possibly your antivirus.

As the Jobs window is empty/blank right now, perhaps
because of running Windows Disk Cleanup and CCleaner
already, "Show job details" can't be applied to the "How to
Geek" I'd reported. I fetched the "How to Geek" anew.
This time everything is OK. Therefore, while sincerely
appreciating your attention and help, let's close this thread.

Logs are not kept across calibre restarts.

Glad you got it working, even though we may not find out why it failed before -- the important thing is it works again.

Thank you again. I didn't know that logs are not kept across calibre restarts.
