Nook GlowLight Plus not recognized/very slow
I have a Nook GlowLight Plus that Calibre only recognizes occasionally (about 1 in 10 times?) and that, when it *is* recognized, about half the time is VERY slow--Calibre takes literally hours to do an initial read of the contents of the device. I don't think it's the cable, as I've tried multiple cables and with all of them, the device *is* visible every time to the OS.
Device debug output is: Code:

That output shows your device
The initial scan MUST complete ( might take hours). Once that is done, Calibre writes 2 files to the device (one contains what-where). Subsequent connections should be lots quicker. If those get removed, you will need to repeat the Long scan. |

What might be removing those files? It seems to do a long scan about half of the time that it is recognized.
Also: most of the time, it doesn't do any scan at all, even though the device shows up in the debug output. Is that normal? |

I have no idea what might be killing the files calibre leaves behind. A rogue A/V? I do notice you disabled a KOBO Touch. Is there a reason? (Preferences:Ignored devices) |

Your device's storage is likely failing. Reset it and/or re-format the disk might allow it to live a little longer.

Anyone know how to reformat the disk on a Nook Glowlight from a Mac? The only way to do direct access to a Nook from a Mac that I know of is via the Android File Transfer app, which opens a file browser but doesn't actually mount a volume.

Trying to get my hands on a Windows box to reformat the Nook, but in the interim: every time that the Nook does get recognized by Calibre and start the long scan, it now consistently runs for about 3 hours and then fails with this error:
Code:

Can you change the USB conn ON THE DEVICE to be MTP?
PTP is for photos |

I'm not aware of any way to do so.
