libraries button switch

Hi! I just saw in the "What's new" for 0.7.9:

"A new toolbar button to choose/create different calibre libraries. Be careful using it if you also use custom columns."

Funny - I cannot find it (confused by the new layout perhaps?),
unless it is the "Restrict to" switchbox, but that was already present, isnt it true?

Anyway - I'd like to know also what exactly this button does, and which dangers lurk in the dark (as I <have> custom columns!)

thanks!

alessandro

After reading the other thread, I also looked for this new button, but could not see it. Since I don't plan on having a second library, I did not ask - however, I am curious now where the button hides.

its the button with the calibre logo on it. Hover your mouse over each button to discover what it does.

Thank you, Kovid, now I found it. I saw it before but did not realize that it was clickable, thought it just displayed the number of books presently in calibre.

Mine just has the logo. It doesn't display the number of books presently in calibre. Where do you see that?

The number of books is considered 'text'. Currently text comes and goes depending on the size of the window. If I maximize calibre (1280x1024) I get text, including the number of books. Anything smaller and the text goes away.

Kovid has said that a preference is coming that will control this behavior.
