ARRGHHH! I bought a Voyage from Woot!

And they sent me a Touch instead (D01200). Their response was, "we'll see if we have any more and get back to you".

Of course, they won't have any more! They are a close-out business. But I don't think I should be expected to pay the $60 or so I spent for an old Voyage, just to receive an old Touch. I mean it's a pretty nice Touch, but it's really just a Paperwhite that can play audiobooks.

So my question is, what do you think a fair resolution should be? Should they refund some of my money? If so, how much? What is fair?

Should I just ask for a return authorization? What do you all think?

You bought a Voyage and received something else. Definitely return for refund.

Of course ask for a return, with shipping on them.

They shouldn't have an issue with that. If they do, then do a credit card chargeback through your bank.

Except a touch isn't even a paperwhite, it doesn't have a frontlight.
(And it has a lower res screen than even the 1st gen pw)
And I'd much rather have a frontlight than audiobooks, if I need audiobooks, that's what my phone is for, I'm much more likely to have that than my kindle.

Give them 2 weeks to find you a Voyage. If they can not produce one, return for full refund. Refurbished Voyages pop up for sale every few weeks, it seems, so it is not impossible you could get what you wanted.

To be fair to Woot, I received a Voyage from them via UPS this afternoon. They actually managed to find one. It's SO light compared to my old Paperwhite which died about 2 weeks ago. So it's all dead weight at this point.

I loved my Voyage (and pagepress!) but now have an Oasis 2. The 7" screen is really nice. My new dream is the Voyage form factor with a 7" screen.

Well, I DID have that Touch. I refused to return it until I had a working Voyage in my hands. So it wasn't too bad.

a while back, i traded in my voyage for the then new oasis 2017. however, i kept the backside-only case i had for the voyage. lately, seeing that case made me itch for the voyage again. this thread made me itch for it more. so i gave in and purchased a used one off amazon today. one usually buys a case for a reader. am i the first to buy a reader to fit a case?

Congratulations on having your situation resolved. I’m curious what firmware came with it. Was it jailbreakable ?
