Oh noes, I just tried to pre-order the H2O, and it said "Out of stock."

Out of stock on something that isn't technically IN stock?

So what, I snoozed, I loozed? I promise I really want it, did Kobo not make enough toys? GIMME GIMME! lol. :'(

Out of stock, and what is your country? When new Kobo reader is sold sometimes you can buy from local store before you would receive your pre-order. This was true for Aura Hd limited edition in Canada.

On my pre-order from Chapters/Indigo, it seemed to indicate that it will be shipped from their warehouse on Oct. 1st and I will receive it sometime after that. Guess I'll have to keep suffering with my Aura HD until it arrives.

A Kobo H20 is already for sale in my local classifieds. $200 with $25 gift card. How is that possible?

On the website, it says that both the Kobo Aura H20 and the Aura HD have the same 6.8" screen with 265 DPI, but the resolution of the H20 is 1430x1080, while the HD has a resolution of 1440x1080. Am I missing something? Shouldn't the same screen size and DPI be the same resolution?

Talk to eInk about that. For some reason, they manufactured the Carta panels with 10 pixels less in the vertical dimension compared to the equivalent Pearl panel. Using 265 pixels/inch or 10.4 pixels/mm, that makes the Aura H2O's Carta screen approximately 6.76" (171.76mm) diagonal while the Aura HD's Pearl screen is 6.79" (172.53mm) diagonal. Rounding to 1 decimal place, would give both of them a 6.8" screen.

Maybe 10 less less vertical eink dots in H20 screen will reduce complaints of excess white space at top and bottom of screen.

Somehow I think it's more like to lead to complaints about not enough white space.
